Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, vice chair of external affairs at The Royal Caribbean Group and former president and CEO of Celebrity Cruises, took the stage at the 2023 Women Leading Travel & Hospitality Summit, held June 5-7 in Nashville. She was interviewed by Cindy Solomon, founder and CEO of The Courageous Leadership Institute.

Lutoff-Perlo is a recognized trailblazer in the global hospitality industry. She served as president and CEO of Celebrity Cruises from 2014 to 2023, the first woman to take the helm of a Royal Caribbean Group brand and one of the few women at the time leading a multibillion dollar brand.

In this clip, Lutoff-Perlo talks about insisting on hiring a woman cruise chip captain — the now-well-known Captain Kate McCue — and considering the traits that make women leaders different as superpowers.
