KOA CEO Toby O'Rourke Says Return to Office Positive, Energizing for All

Skift Take

Toby O’Rourke, President and CEO, Kampgrounds of America, Inc., said bringing staff back to work together in person was a good decision.

Toby O’Rourke, president and CEO, Kampgrounds of America (KOA), believes that bringing staff back to work together in person was the right decision. O'Rourke addressed the decision to bring employees back to the office as well as many other topics during the May 20 Women Leading Travel & Hospitality Virtual Exchange.

When the KOA team was remote, the shared goal of staying focused and afloat helped them a lot, noted O'Rourke. It was also important to acknowledge there was a lot of mental stress outside of work, therefore, strong communication and regular check-ins were vital.

A sense of fatigue from working remotely was palpable, according to O'Rourke. Having since returned to the office, O'Rourke and her team have noticed improved collaboration and connections, advanced business, and growing energy.

"It feels like we've completely catapulted forward again," O'Rourke said.
