Change is nothing new for humans, but the pace of change is picking up like never before, said Erica Orange, executive vice president and chief operating officer of The Future Hunters.

Change is nothing new for humans, but the pace of change is picking up like never before, said Erica Orange, executive vice president and chief operating officer of The Future Hunters, during the May 20 Women Leading Travel & Hospitality Virtual Exchange. Orange spoke to the audience of travel and hospitality professionals about understating our changing society and what it all means for the future.

"The boundaries that we used to give, all of these things are starting to come together, time and space are becoming more amorphous," Orange explained, using the term "COVID-accelerator-effect" to explain the process suddenly speeding up.

"We've catapulted into a merger between the real and the virtual, the tangible and intangible, the analog and digital, even the biological and technological," she said. "These realities are coming together and the boundaries that used to define them are all becoming more blurred."

In the above video clip, Orange explains that how we measure time is changing, and why it's such a valuable commodity.
